Cheap Wedding Reception Ideas Part One
Your wedding will be one of the most important days of your life, don’t let the over inflation of the wedding industry keep you from having your dream wedding. Avoid starting your life together in debt by following these few easy steps to planning a cheap wedding reception.
First you will want to set yourself a reasonable budget. You can plan an extravagant wedding with as little as $2000 if you plan accordingly and prioritize effectively. All you need a little time and effort and a ton of imagination!
· Your Guest List: The first thing you will want to consider for a cheap wedding reception is your guest list. Most expenses are calculated per head, especially for all inclusive venues. Therefore you will need to be ruthless when planning your guest list. Only invite close family friends and tell anyone who may be hurt that you are just having a very intimate wedding. You may also want to hold a celebration for those who are not invited at a bar or restaurant. If you are able to keep your guest list at a minimum you will be able to book smaller venues, have less table, chairs, linens, food, ect which will save you tons!
· Your Reception Venue: Look into places that are local for you and your guests such as a local hotel or hall for your cheap wedding reception venue. You may also want to choose a more intimate setting such as a Bed and Breakfast or even a friend’s home. These places may need a little extra decoration, but the cost of the venue will be cut drastically and the small venue will make your small event seem more populated than it actually is.
· Your Food: Consider ditching the sit down dinner at your cheap wedding reception and replace it with a buffet. Buffet style dining is probably the most economical way to have plentiful and tasty catered meal. Or many brides are opting for a family style dining where large dishes are set at each table and guests spoon their portions from the table. If you truly want to save money, and you are having a very small wedding, you may want to consider a home cooked buffet, with some help from your friends and family.
