Sunday, November 16th, 2008For the past two posts I have given you in depth guide to bridesmaid duties. Now I will go over the most important part – the attendant duties on the day of the wedding. From assisting with the dress to easing anxieties, you are to the go to person to make sure everything runs as smooth as possible.
Of course one of the major attendant duties is helping the bride slip into her dress. Depending on the dress this may be a complicated task. Remember that she has probably paid a lot of money for her hair and make-up, so your task is to make sure these stay intact.
You will also want to make sure that the bride is comfortable. During the hours of primping she may need you to get food or water or maybe run last minute errands. Also help the bride get a little privacy if she needs some alone time before the wedding. Sometimes this part gets very overwhelming and the bride just needs some time to breathe.Help the other bridesmaids with the timing and where to go. Some bridesmaids may show up late, or some may not be as involved so you will need to keep them in the loop. (more…)
